DR. SEUSS BIRTHDAY PARTY AT THE LIBRARY

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! Children of all ages are invited to attend a Birthday Party for the beloved children’s author on Thursday, March 4, 4:00 pm at the Mason County District Library in Ludington. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. ALL Library programs are free of charge.

MASON COUNTY DISTRICT LIBRARY MARCH IS READING MONTH BOOKMARK CONTEST

To celebrate March is Reading Month, the Mason County District Libraries in Ludington and Scottville are sponsoring a children’s bookmark contest. Artists may pick up an entry form at either the Ludington or the Scottville building. Entries must be returned to the library by 6 pm, Friday, March 19, 2010. Winning entries will be reproduced and distributed at the Mason County District Libraries in Ludington and Scottville.

GENEALOGY CLASSES AT MASON COUNTY DISTRICT LIBRARY

Mason County District Library will hold Basic Genealogy classes Tuesday, March 9, and a slightly more advanced class Tuesday, March 16, 6:00 pm at the Ludington Library. Beginning family researchers will learn how to get started, what resources are available at the library and on the web. They will learn how to locate and use other local resources for their research. Students will have the opportunity to begin their search on the internet with the instructor’s assistance. Space is limited. Registration is REQUIRED. Please call 843-8465 to register. All Mason County District Library programs are free.

EASTER EGG DECORATING CONTEST AT THE LIBRARY

Mason County District Library will host an Easter egg decorating contest Thursday, March 11, 1:00 to 6:00 pm at the Ludington and Scottville Libraries. Anyone interested is invited to help build the new children’s room by creating a decorated cardboard cutout Easter egg. Participants may drop by either Library any time between 1:00 and 6:00 pm to create their egg. All supplies and materials for the “eggs” will be provided by the library. Completed Easter eggs will be displayed at the Ludington Library from March 16 until April 6. Easter eggs will be judged by the $1 per vote method. The decorated “egg” with the most votes wins the contest. Vote money will be contributed to the Ludington Library Just Imagine Expansion Campaign. Call 231-843-8465 for information. Children under age 8 MUST be accompanied by an adult. ALL Mason County District Library events are free of charge.

SPRING CELEBRATION AT THE LIBRARY

There will be a Spring Celebration at the Mason County District Library in Ludington, 217 East Ludington Avenue, Thursday, March 25, 4:00 pm. Children who are old enough to use scissors and other tools of creation on their own are invited to attend. Call 843-8465 for information. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. ALL Mason County District Library programs are FREE.
