SUMMER READING KICKOFF PARTY AT THE LIBRARY


Begin the Mason County District Library Make a Splash – READ! Summer Reading Program with a Party!
At the Ludington Library, the party is scheduled for Friday, June 4, 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Please remember that the library closes at 6:00 pm. The doors will not reopen for the party until 6:50 pm. All children must be signed in and out of the party by an adult. Please call 231-843-8465 to pre-register.

At the Scottville Library, the Open House begins at 10:00 am, Friday, June 4. No sign-up necessary.

There will be crafts, games, and prizes at both parties. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. All Mason County District Library programs are Free.

“ALL ABOUT ME” AT THE LIBRARY

Students who have completed first grade are invited to join library volunteer Mrs. Radtke at the Mason County District Library in Ludington Wednesdays at 1:00 pm beginning June 9 to create “All About Me” books. Children will explore their lives and relationships while they discover the world around us in this ‘more than a scrapbook’ activity. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. All Mason County District Library programs are free.

The public is invited to meet author and local historian David K. Petersen at an Open House Wednesday, June 9, 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Ludington Library to celebrate the publication of his new book, “Ludington Car Ferries”. The author selected many unique images from his collection to illustrate the maritime history of Ludington from its humble beginnings to an important port of call. Petersen currently writes a local history column for the Ludington Daily News. All Mason County District Library programs are free.

GENEALOGY CLASSES AT MASON COUNTY DISTRICT LIBRARY

Mason County District Library will hold Basic Genealogy classes Tuesday, June 15, and a slightly more advanced class Tuesday, June 22, 6:00 pm at the Ludington Library. Beginning family researchers will learn how to get started, what resources are available at the library and on the web. They will learn how to locate and use other local resources for their research. Students will have the opportunity to begin their search on the internet with the instructor’s assistance. Space is limited. Registration is REQUIRED. Please call 231-843-8465 to register. All Mason County District Library programs are free.
