Small Business Saturday: A Festive Holiday Shopping Event

Get a jump-start on Christmas shopping! “Shop Small” with your holiday lists and bring more business to small businesses in Downtown Ludington. Take advantage of extended hours, deals and promotions all day long – leading up to the Aglow on the Avenue Parade at 6 p.m. on Ludington Avenue.

Held in conjunction with Small Business Saturday, the annual Aglow on the Avenue Parade ushers in the holiday season in Downtown Ludington, beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29. All parade entries are lighted for this evening extravaganza on Ludington Avenue from Gaylord Avenue to Harrison Street.

Join us for caroling, a tree lighting, and a Santa visit in Legacy Plaza, 112 N. James St., after the Aglow parade! The Ludington High School Choir and Ludington Youth Choir will be providing a festive musical atmosphere for this event at approximately 6:45 p.m.

Holiday Open House at Red Door Gallery

The Red Door Gallery is hosting an open house with seasonal refreshments, homemade cookies, complimentary gift wrapping and 10% off gallery wide. Stop in from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. to find a gift hand made and truly as unique as the person you’re shopping for.

Window Decorating Contest
New this year, you won’t want to miss the amazing holiday window paintings at local businesses, creating an enchanting shopping experience in the downtown district. Shoppers can vote for their favorites and will be entered to win Downtown Ludington Dollars, which can be redeemed at over 40 downtown locations. (Look for a poster with QR code at each location to vote.)

Santa’s Mailbox
Children may mail letters to Santa at his Santa’s mailbox, located at Legacy Plaza, so get those Christmas lists ready! Remember to write your return address on your mail, so you can receive a return letter from Jolly Ol’ St. Nick. Deadline: December 18

Twas the Night Before Christmas
Stage Left Theatre Company presents Ken Ludwig’s “Twas the Night Before Christmas” at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 29 at Ludington Area Center for the Arts. The plot: “Twas the night before Christmas… and guess what? Something is stirring! When Santa skips a house; a clever mouse, a rookie elf, and one determined little girl team up to save Christmas — with plenty of laughs along the way.”

Art of Giving Holiday Market
This annual market will be held from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, November 29 at Ludington Area Center for the Arts, featuring handmade gifts by local artisans. This market will run through December 18.

SS Badger Holiday Pop-Up Shop
Lake Michigan Carferry is hosting a holiday pop-up shop in the Jamesport Brewing Company building, 404 S. James Street. Browse nostalgic S.S. Badger merchandise and cherish memories aboard the historical ship. This pop-up shop will be open until December 21.

An Afternoon with Santa
Santa’s making a stop at The Mitten Bar for a cozy afternoon of holiday cheer! Bring the kids, grab some cocoa (or a cocktail for the grown-ups), and enjoy a festive day full of smiles and magic. 2-4 p.m.
