The Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) is proud to present Harmonious Wail in concert Friday, March 13, in the Bob & Kay Neal Performance Hall. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. A cash bar will be available.
Purveyors of Americana-infused Gypsy Jazz, Harmonious Wail takes listeners on a musical journey that spans the Hot Club sounds of Parisian cafés, the deep blues of the Memphis Delta, and the heartfelt folk traditions of everyday America. Known for their rich harmonies, virtuosic playing, and engaging storytelling, the trio delivers performances that uplift spirits and connect deeply with audiences.
Harmonious Wail is a trio of multi-award-winning musicians led by mandolin virtuoso and vocalist Sims Delaney-Potthoff, alongside vocalist extraordinaire Maggie Delaney-Potthoff, who adds rhythmic flair using everything from a cardboard box to everyday household objects. They are joined by a world-class bassist, completing a lineup celebrated for its artistry, wit, and emotional depth.
With more than 30 years of performing together and 10 recordings to their credit, Harmonious Wail is currently launching its fourth decade with the simultaneous release of two new albums—one featuring original compositions and another celebrating Gypsy Jazz standards recorded in collaboration with some of the world’s leading Gypsy Jazz All Stars. The group is also known as the founder of the Midwest Gypsy Swing Fest, held twice annually in Madison, Wisconsin, and for their extensive educational outreach programs nationwide.
Tickets for the concert are $25 in advance or $30 at the door, with a special early-bird presale price of $20 available for tickets purchased before Jan. 16. Tickets may be purchased at LACA during normal business hours or online by clicking here: EVENTBRITE LINK
